Danniel Sturridge marked his 24th birthday with the winning goal as Liverpool Beat Manchester United 1-0
on Sunday. Anfield celebrated a significent anniversary in its auspicious history. Bill Shankly, the legendary manager who put Liverpool on the World's Football Map was born 100 years ago which made this success more special. The win also marked the first time in 19 years that Liverpool have opened the campaign with 3 consecutive victories & they are already 5 points ahead of their rivals Manchester United. In just, 3 minutes of the starting of the game Sturridge capitalised on the error made by Ashley Cole & won a courier with the challenge of Rio Ferdinand.
The legend, Steven Gerrard's right wind corner found Danel Agger, who lost Ferdinand easily & Sturridge superbly put the ball into the goal with an awesome header flicked by him. It was sturridge's 3rd goal in as many league games & this is the one that would have impressed England's manager as he prepares to name his sides for the forthcoming World Cup, in Ukraine.with all the big names coming to their game in EPL, Robin Van-Persie almost produced a cracker of a goal for the champions, who were missing Rooney due to a head injury but actually cleared the cross-bar.
